Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., said that newly appointed United States Marshal for the district of Wyoming, Tony Rose, is extremely qualified for the important position.

The Senate confirmed Rose by unanimous consent today.

Rose has been the Rawlins Chief of Police since 1986. He has served as the president of the Wyoming Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police Association and has received many honors and awards including the Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer for the State of Wyoming in 1996. Rose is currently serving his fourth term as a representative in the Wyoming State Legislature.

"Tony's prior experience in law enforcement as both a police officer and the Chief of Police make him well suited for the position. Additionally, as a legislator he has an in depth understanding of the laws he will be enforcing that others in his position may not have. I am confident he will serve the citizens of Wyoming and the United States extremely well and I fully support and approve of his selection for this important position," said Enzi.
