Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet's bipartisan bill to promote the use of energy efficient technologies by commercial building tenants was approved as part of an amendment the Senate adopted today. Bennet originally introduced the bill with Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) in 2013. The bill was included in an amendment Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) introduced that included several provisions on energy-efficiency.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers from the House and Senate have written to President Obama urging him to "highlight the importance of rebuilding America's infrastructure and fixing the broken international tax code" in the 2015 State of the Union.
Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today was named co-chair of the Senate Finance Committee's working group on infrastructure, community development and energy. Bennet will join Republican Senator Dean Heller of Nevada to examine and develop policy recommendations that could be packaged into a comprehensive tax reform bill. The working group is one of five launched today by Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR).

Two Colorado Projects Selected for Landmark Farm Bill Conservation Grants

Projects Focused on Improving Water Quantity, Quality

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today announced that two projects in Colorado have been selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to receive $9.8 million through the Agency's new Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Bennet helped craft the RCPP program, which was created in the 2014 Farm Bill. The Colorado River District and the Colorado Department of Agriculture are heading up the projects that will focus on improving the availability and quality of water in the region.
