Hey, #CA15 artists – I’d like to display some of your best work representing your culture and heritage in my office on Capitol Hill!
I hope to borrow and display your painting, drawing, photograph, poem, small sculpture or other art for at least a year, to show visitors the amazing diversity and talent of our community.
Please bring submissions (only one per artist) to my district office, 3615 Castro Valley Blvd. in Castro Valley, just east of Redwood Road – no later than Friday, Aug. 3. Paintings, drawings, photos, poems and other two-dimensional art must be unframed and no longer than 20 inches on any side; sculpture and other three-dimensional art must be no more than 12 inches tall or wide. You must reside in the 15th Congressional District, and your entry must be tagged with your name, address, email, and phone number.
I wish we could accept all of them, but the D.C. office just isn’t that big! I and my staff will pick some for display in D.C.; artists whose submissions are selected will receive certificates of appreciation.
I know this district is home to some incredibly talented artists – I can’t wait to see your entries!

“This is tyranny of talk radio hosts, right? And so, how do you deal with that?” said Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn). “You have two talk radio hosts who completely flipped the president. And so, do we succumb to tyranny of talk radio hosts?”
This isn't leadership. This is a temper tantrum, and America pays the cost for it.
I had the great privilege today of delivering the commencement address at my alma mater, the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences, University of Maryland. I told the graduates they should learn from their losses, own their mistakes, believe in second chances, never close windows of opportunity, and be impatient but not closed-minded. GO TERPS!
