Today I hosted an important Homeland Security Committee Transportation & Protective Security Subcommittee bipartisan roundtable discussion at McMahon/Ryan Child... Advocacy Center with Ranking Member Bonnie Watson Coleman on drug and human trafficking here in Central New York, and the impact of these threats on our national security. Whether by exploiting America’s highways, railways, busses, or air travel, the trafficking of drugs and people continues to be a scourge that we must actively combat. I'm especially grateful for the participation of local advocates from McMahon/Ryan and Vera House, Inc. as well as federal and local law enforcement, including officials from the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office.
