Washington, D.C. – Two Clearmont community initiatives are set to receive federal grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.

The Clearmont Fire District is expected to receive $15,373 to help purchase emergency protective gear and global positioning devices.

The South East Sheridan County Emergency Response Unit is set to receive about $2,977 to help purchase a cot and related attachments for the county's ambulance.

The funding comes from the USDA Rural Development grant program. Funds from the program can be used to construct, enlarge, extend or otherwise improve essential community facilities including, among other things, health services, child day care facilities, community, social or cultural services, food storage and distribution services, or the purchasing of major equipment to provide an essential service to rural residents.
