    Because while the wall won't serve its intended purpose of preventing migration, it *will* threaten local ecology, split up towns, desecrate Native gravesites, and cause a mountain of eminent domain litigation that will ruin farmers and ranchers' lives. Is that clear enough?

    If a wall "won't work," why are Democrats so hysterically opposed to spending 0.11% of the federal budget on one?

    The Committee is looking forward to oversight of who Trump administration policies have benefited financially, who they’ve hurt, and how they’ve impacted the environment. Zinke’s successor will have a chance to course correct. If not, expect a concerted effort to understand why.

    As Secretary, Ryan Zinke gutted our nation’s protected lands and endangered species for profit. Public servants serve the public, not corporate interests. In the 116th, Democrats will fight to end corruption and make Washington work again.

    White House pushed Zinke to quit for weeks and told him he would be fired if he did not. He was viewed as big issue w/Democrats taking House. But he wanted to have his Christmas party Thursday night, where he invited activists, lobbyists, donors and more.

    This is no kind of victory, but I’m hopeful that it is a genuine turning of the page. It’s time for the Interior Dept to put the public good ahead of the fossil fuel industry, and House Democrats on the Natural Resources Committee will do just that come January.
