    This is devastating news on a day when so many around the world are holding their families close. We can never become desensitized to children dying in US custody. We need a full investigation into this horrible tragedy. And we urgently need humanity in our immigration policies.

    On Christmas Eve, here's more bizarre talk about border security from a president who clearly doesn't know the first thing about the border. Republican leaders need to stand up to the president, put an end to this madness & reopen the gov't, before our country suffers even more.

    The Wall is different than the 25 Billion Dollars in Border Security. The complete Wall will be built with the Shutdown money plus funds already in hand. The reporting has been inaccurate on the point. The problem is, without the Wall, much of the rest of Dollars are wasted!

    My flight from NM just landed & I’m on my way to vote NO on Trump holding government hostage to waste >$5 billion in taxpayer money. The Senate already passed a bipartisan bill to keep government open. Put an end to this madness so New Mexico families can enjoy holiday season.

    There are legitimate questions about the reasoning & process of ' Syria announcement. But we must remember Congress never authorized de-facto invasion of Syria in the first place–-so I have opposed using U.S. forces in this complicated civil war, no matter who is president.

    More than one year after Las Vegas, an overdue but important step: a commonsense gun safety measure that will save lives. We must build on this – Congress needs to be proactive & work together on real solutions that will keep the American people safe from senseless gun violence.

    JUST IN: The Justice Department has amended the regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to clarify that bump-stock-type devices are "machine guns" and are illegal.
