    The VA secretary just issued a statement along the same lines: "Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Congress, VA is fully funded for fiscal year 2019, and in the event of a partial government shutdown, all VA operations will continue unimpeded."

    officials promised Wednesday to use the agency’s full budget this year for suicide prevention outreach, following the discovery that the VA didn’t use nearly $5 million allotted for that purpose in fiscal year 2018.
