Why the ad hominem?
-
I’m above “ad hominem.” This was “ad caninem.”

Am I not allowed to use my dog as an avatar? Here's another pic of him. He's quite beautiful. Do you have anything of substance to add to my original post?pic.twitter.com/C4d2n62YqW

That’s a pretty pup! - Olive

Thank you. His name is Noah. He's a Borzoi.

Excuse me? I am definitely one of your constituents & registered voter. No, as a woman who was once stalked and threatened online, and possibly at my home too... I no longer risk my or my family's safety with identifiable details. As a private individual I choose not to.
-
Secondly, there some reason you were unable to respond to the substance of my post which was a valid point of view and not in the LEAST BIT disrespectful to you. https://mobile.twitter.com/0neOfDem/status/1076576618649448450 …

It's almost like Rep. Massie is unable to debate Kentuckians on the merits, or lack there of, in spending our tax dollars on a wall Republicans told us Mexico would pay for.

Honestly, I would rather have regulations on immigration up to the states, since in article 1 section 8 of constitution doesn't say anything about the federal government having the power to establish immigration laws.
-
I'll refer you to article 1, sections 8,9 and 10. follow that up with article 6
-
Why tho?
-
in brief people are allowed to travel between nations based on agreements between governments. in the united states no state is allowed to make a treaty or to engage in foreign relations. the referenced parts are the relevant passages. congress powers in article 1...1/2
-
Yeah, but thats on the basis on foreign policy and confederations agreements, not immigration. Also who says it has to be an agreement? States can just simply make rules on immigration either in having a literacy or native speaking requirements or having unlimited immigration etc
-
ok, if you want explictly. section 8 - powers of congress. To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization. and in sec 9, the states ability to deal with migration ended in 1808.
-
All that isn't even true, sec 8 is about the federal government granting citizenship to non-citizen in the country, not a regulation on immigration. And sec 9 isn't about immigration, it was about the importation of slavery. Thus immigration is a power for the states.
-
well, 250 years of jurisprudence and precedent say otherwise. Leaving it to the states is neither wise or legal.

I love you, Congressman, but this is a blatant ad hominem. Just because she's silly doesn't mean she's wrong. Also, she's not wrong. Since 2007, more illegal immigrants enter the US legally and overstay their visas than cross an unguarded border. A wall wouldn't stop them.
-
Another caravan coming
#BuildThatFreakinWallNOW will stop them - was supposed to be built in 1986 - it's time!#MAGA
