    Cutting off U.S. aid to Central America will only worsen the conditions there. Real solutions to the migrant crisis should address its root causes: poverty, crime, corruption, and government repression. That's why people are fleeing. It’s time to implement humane solutions.

    Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.

    President Reagan negotiated the INF Treaty because he knew “a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.” If President Trump withdraws from INF first so Russia can justify its noncompliance, he is betraying NATO and Europe to do Putin’s bidding.

    It is as unjust as it is unprecedented… and the Republicans are set to do it again next week on Oct 24th. As Republicans continue to pack our courts, this is what a tyranny of the majority looks like. They must postpone these hearings until the Senate is back in session.

    This week, while Senators are working in their home states, Judiciary Committee Republicans advanced controversial nominees for lifetime judgeships. Chairman Grassley wasn't even present. This has *never* been done during a recess before an election.

    The Trump admin’s priority shouldn’t be giving the Saudis “a few more days” to invent a narrative about what happened to . It should be calling for a truly impartial investigation. A UN-appointed team of criminal investigators would be a good start to finding the truth.

    Americans deserve fully-funded Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security both because living with dignity should be a right, and because workers *earn* these benefits. They’re not privileges. Republicans will try to steal them if they retain Congress.

    By believing Saudi’s story on , Donald Trump is sending a message to authoritarians around the world that they can act with impunity. America must send the message that we will forcefully defend our values, if necessary through sanctions and canceled arms deals.
