The very notion of detaining innocent children is an abomination. The U.S. pats itself on the back for being a champion of human rights when the incompetence of our government is responsible for the death of a 7 year old who will never experience what life might have offered her!

So what, just let them wander around in the desert?

>There is no humane way to detain children. That's an absurd statement.
-
Seriously though, I want you all to reflect on this situation. What happens to the child in question in this alternative scenario where the didn't detain her? Law enforcement detains children all the time when they are in bad situations. There is nothing inhumane thing about it.
-
Now... there are certainly inhumane things you can do to people in your custody, but the mere act of detaining a child? What are you supposed to do if say... a five year old girl is with her father and he kills someone? Arrest him and let her *choose* to wander off if she wants?

This organization has become a parody. You all don't think about anything you all say anymore. You just blurt out emotional nonsense. It's a shame.

Congress needs to call DHS Sec Kirstjen Nielsen CBP Commissioner Kevin McAleenan and El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Hull for answers on how the 7 year old girl died.

Anybody who says this has not considered the alternatives. Another option to detaining children who enter the country illegally is to leave them to fend for themselves.

Don’t believe the efforts are to provide a humane way to detain children. It’s more about how to come up w/lame excuses & cover-ups in case their injustices are revealed & questioned.

Democrats consult with leftist activists instead of border agencies. Naturally.

ICE already runs chartered aircraft into nations all over central America. Do the same thing with the children. Ship em back within 48 hours. Irs kinder than scout camps with barbed wire.

Children must be detained, why would you want to leave them with pimps? What do you want done with children being trafficked as sex slaves? What's WRONG WITH YOU!? !?!?!!?!?!?

Stop lying and omitting context, ACLU. The CBP did everything in their power to save this child after in custody but she still died. Why the father did not pack sufficient food and water is beyond me.

You absolute propagandist vultures! What would be the alternative? Let the family wonder the desert? The girl would have died in that case Certainly. She had been 4 days without water. Border Patrol called in a staff flight ASAP.

The child died because she was dehydrated and exhausted from her journey that her father took on. It is too dangerous for a child. She was already ill and succumbed from it. If they did not arrest them she would have died on the dirt. Seek asylum in the country you are in.
