The American people gave us a clear mandate: secure the border and build the wall. I have long called for building a wall as a necessary step in defending our border and stopping the flow of illegal immigration into our country.

We also remember our servicemen and women who are spending the holiday season far away from home at sea or deployed in a foreign land. We pray for their safe return. And we remember their families, who sacrifice enormously for our great country.

Evidence of Christ’s love can be found all across the Lone Star State. Just this week, high school students and others volunteered their time with Lubbock’s Meals on Wheels to distribute more than 400 boxes of supplies for seniors.

For decades she has served as a fixture to the Cuban-American community, standing against oppressive regimes & their human rights abuses, in Cuba and beyond. She will be sorely missed in Congress, and I am glad to call her mi amiga! -->

Grateful for the tremendous work we have accomplished together & I wish the best in her retirement. While serving as the 1st Hispanic woman--the 1st Cuban American woman--elected to Congress, she has been a phenomenal advocate for democracy & freedom.

But this bill seeks to right these historic wrongs by disclosing case records so that the public may pursue leads and document these tragic events.

This week has been a historic week for justice. Crimes committed against Americans seeking their rightful place in the American dream during the civil rights movement too often went unsolved.
