    The NWS will continue to operate 24x7 through the government shutdown to provide reliable forecasts and warnings. Our social media posts will remain as close to normal as possible, but we will be limiting posts/replies to subjects that are directly related to ongoing weather.

    7 weeks ago today most of PA was under a blanket of 8"+ of snow. Since then, there has been a notable lack of wintry precipitation thanks to above avg temps. Light snow accumulations are possible next week, but there are still no significant snowfall chances on the horizon.

    The Anchorage NWS Forecast Office dropped to -3.3° this morning. This is our first day of the 2018-19 Winter Season below 0° so far. Prepare for several more cold nights with temperatures from 0° to -40°, with the coldest in the Copper River Basin Mon AM (see graphic).
