What could the argument against recording votes possibly be? Asking sincerely - truly want to hear the mental gymnastics they use to justify booing accountability if anyone knows...

Some procedural votes: eg, reducing the period to vote from 5 minutes to 2 minutes might not warrant a recorded vote. Naming a post office, if everyone knows in advance that it’s happening and if no one has an objection. But there’s rampant abuse, especially at the end of year.
-
But even in those cases, there’s really no reason for grown adults, entrusted to write the country’s laws, to boo anyone who wants a recorded vote.
-
Absolutely agree and thanks for the response....please keep doing what you're doing; we need more people in office like you!

Why not give the full info Massie? Just want to seem superior? Don't want us to look through the full record? Hey everyone check out voting records here: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes

54 roll call votes in 2 days. Most of these would have gone by voice vote (with rules suspended) or unanimous consent (UC). UC is similar to voice vote but they aren’t even placed on the calendar. Here’s a more direct link to the results (#446 to #500): http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2018/index.asp …
-
And the other 130ish days you guys are in session, the other 446 votes... Those records are important to share too. Also, why are you taking 50+ votes in 2 days? That is terrible planning. Trying to ram things through? Procrastination? Seems problematic.
-
The things you’re concerned about in that tweet: the work calendar, which votes come to the floor, when the votes come to the floor, etc... those are controlled by a Speaker for whom I did not vote.
-
Yeah, you prefer a speaker who is being investigated for covering up sexusl assault of student athletes. He might have skeltons in his closet... but he'll be great at sticking to a schedule.https://mobile.twitter.com/RepThomasMassie/status/1040341487295311872 …

I know it has to be tough for the freedom caucus to be the only adults in the room.
-
Most of the Freedom Caucus supported my requests for recorded votes, but I am not in the Freedom Caucus.
-
Really? That surprises me as it seems like a good fit. You are still my favorite member of Congress. I wish it was you and 434 clones of you in the House. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Thank you
@RepThomasMassie for requesting a recorded vote. I can at least attempt to hold my rep accountable. I wish I had a rep like you to vote for. Sadly, there are only about 3 or 4 people like you in Washington. -
move here to kentucky! I get to vote for
@RepThomasMassie AND@RandPaul -
I can’t, but I am working to get people like Rand and Massie elected in my district.
-
More power to you! if we had 1 rep like them in every state it would do a world of good! The 4th district of kentucky is sending you our energy ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
