I've seen firsthand Air Force Sec Heather Wilson's leadership for our men and women in uniform - she would make a great Secretary of Defense and make our country proud.

The best choice for SecDef would also be the nation's first woman to hold that distinction - Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson. AF Academy grad, veteran, Rhodes Scholar, member of Congress, and a fighter for our men and women in uniform.

W/approx 20 veteran suicides daily in the US the lack of outreach by the ⁦⁦⁩ is simply unacceptable. I'm profoundly disappointed to learn the VA has fallen short in fulfilling this responsibility. We can & must do better for our vets.

The idea that a multibillion dollar corporation like Exxon can claim “hardship” and be granted a “small refiner” waiver doesn’t pass the straight face test. If true, this decision by would be way out of line. We need transparency!

The 2018 Farm Bill was a must-do and a big-win for Iowa. The 2018 Farm Bill will strengthen conservation programs, provide critical mental health support to the agriculture community, support our nation’s dairy farmers and maintain a robust crop insurance program.

It’s unacceptable when the VA fails in delivering for our vets. With my support, the Senate acted to ensure the VA fully reimburses our vets for any missed or underpaid housing benefits they are owed. We owe our vets the support they were promised.

China is a key market for soybean farmers. Their latest purchase of U.S. soybeans is an important step toward bringing some normalcy to our trade relationship with the country.

(2/2) Health care reform should be focused on choice, not mandates. Yet, it is important that we protect people with pre-existing conditions, as we repeal and replace Obamacare.

(1/2) Too many Iowa families and businesses have been hurt by the painful effects of Obamacare – from rising costs, to losing access to doctors, to hampering businesses’ ability to hire new employees.

As a combat veteran, & mother of a West Point plebe, it’s truly an honor to nominate 33 qualified students for admittance to our U.S. Service Academies. I’m proud to assist these students in reaching their goal of serving our nation in uniform.

Today, I met w/Ukrainian amb. to U.S. Valeriy Chaly & commander of Ukraine navy Admiral Ihor Voronchenko to discuss recent Russian aggression in Sea of Azov. The U.S. must make it clear to Russia that we will stand by Ukraine in the face of unjustified aggression.
