Did he donate to you, too? Seems like a whole mess o' conflicts of interest, pay-to-play going on. But you're from PA, so you should know all about that.https://twitter.com/maxkutner/status/1071067990265876480 …

He has, yes. Plus he's given loads of cash to
@NRSC & other GOP Senators & candidates.pic.twitter.com/8kIQ1xUrH2 -
So, how common is this? Should Toomey (and other Senators who've received $ from Barr) exempt themselves from his confirmation vote? Seems the ethical thing to do, but in this day and age, ethics doesn't seem to exist with most GOPers.
-
They should, but they won't. The whole
@SenateGOP would have to. It's not common that someone would unretire out of private life to return to the position. I can't think of a modern example. -
There was a documentary about the revolving door between business and government. I can't remember the name. Cheney seemed to be the biggest fish so far what with Halliburton to VP and Iraq war/Afghanistan war. Lots of happy shareholders there.
-
Chaney did not need to be confirmed by the Senate. I should have specified that was what I meant.
-
Just pointing out how commonplace this is. The documentary pointed out how AG industry folks ended up leading the USDA and then determining policy that benefitted their former employers. It's rampant and damaging and needs to stop. But we've got bigger problems at the moment...
-
I follow you. But the point about Senate confirmation, and the conflict of having received donations from a nominee still stands.

At this point
@SenToomey how can I trust anything you say? You've proven time and time again that you value your own bank account over the well-being of your constituents and that you will through the country under the bus to protect your party.Thanks. That’s a long time, but I look forward to it too.

Thank you puppet Pat Toomey. You claim to be a leader and all you do is follow the orders of the GOP and
@nra and continue to collect a paycheck I pay without representing my interests. But the @bra pays more I guess (for now). -
He's like that guy at work that's called the "sales manager" who's got nobody working under him.

So the loyal sycophant is ready to vote yes without any vetting? You are clearly more concerned with party over country and have no concern for PA. We sent Rothfus home for this reason, your turn will come.
