I’m on some Sunday shows this morning, I hope you’ll tune in to @CNNSotu and @FaceTheNation to hear some serious policy discussions.

This is actually my grievance with liberals. They want the government to do more and more, take over more healthcare, more education — I mean you seen what it ALREADY is doing?

Someone tell me again why we don’t have Term Limits??pic.twitter.com/dCFLBbHLcM
-
Term limits only work if gerrymandering & big money donations stripped from politics. It’s only part of the problem. Force politicians to disclose all sources of income & names and affiliations of all donors including Names of people financing PACs that push for their election.
-
Respecting disagree. money a problem & they have tried to solve different ways for years. go to the root & turn over politicians. If aren’t there very long then not much return on investment, they have to live under what they passed. would see a move from Federal to State power
-
It’s ok to disagree. Gerrymandering results in one party rule in gerrymandered Congressional districts. Term limits would be helpful in the senate but only partially help the problems in the House. That’s why we have the Sheila Jackson Lee’s, Maxine Waters, Pelosi et al
-
Imagine 10 year Congressional term Limits Pelosi out 1997, McConnell out 1995, Schumer out 1991, McCain out 1993, Ryan out 2009, Biden out 1983, Graham out 2005, Durbin out 1993, Harry Reid out 1993, Orrin Hatch out 1987, Feinstein out 2002. How much better country would be?
-
Exactly... Term Limits or a Convention Of States. Fix it, or We The People will fix it ourselves.
-
Hard to do unless you get most states to sign on and even then getting everyone to agree to the new changes. The USA is a very large country with many different cultures, beliefs, and concerns/issues. It could take years to ratify changes.
-
You hit nail on head with all differences. That is beauty of Constitution. Designed limited Federal control then each state can be liberal or conservative as they choose with Constitution bounds. But each political party wants to push their way for every state out of Washington

The problem is too many people in government have the ability to make money decisions. If it was narrowed down to a few you could control it better.

Congress decides how money is spent in the government

Every Senator and Representative has a staff and control of a budget. There is more waste than we can possibly fathom.

Potus needs to fix this
-
Agreed, but no one person can do it all. Congress must take the rein this in, the voters must do their part putting in the right people. Securing our elections is critical.
