  1. Now that Trump has “proudly” shut down the government “for border security,” I wonder if he’s aware that in doing so, he’s forced every single ICE and CBP agent to continue their work – but without a paycheck?

There’s still time to . In California, the deadline to sign-up for health insurance beginning January 1 is now midnight on December 21. Don't wait, act now!

  3. This needless death is just another example of consequences of the Trump Administration’s haphazard and chaotic immigration policy. I expect Secretary Nielsen will be held to account next week for this Admin's callous policies which have driven so many migrants to desperation.

  4. It is outrageously cruel for the Trump Administration to blame this child and her family for her own death. This Administration truly has no shame.

We need to know a lot more than we do at the moment. What this will mean for the Special Counsel’s investigation is essential. There should not be any interference by the President. The American people deserve an investigation free from political influence.

But it is clear that what was intended was nothing more than to divide us, and also to distract us from the threat Republicans pose to Medicare and affordable health care before Election day next Tuesday.

It was difficult to follow exactly what the President was proposing, assuming he even knows. He demonstrated difficulties with the facts and the law, but that's not new. I will have to wait to see what he actually rolls out before I can comment further.

  14. No President can amend the Constitution by executive order. This is a ploy to divert the attention of midterm voters from the serious efforts Republicans have already announced to cut Medicare, Social security and Medicaid if they keep control of Congress.

We shouldn’t have to go to federal court to make our case. The math — at a time where we’re facing a climate change crisis — should speak for itself.

7/ It didn’t take lawmakers long to respond to our reporting. In a Sept. 12 letter, U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., requested “a thorough investigation of the treatment of unaccompanied children in MVM custody and suspend their contract pending the outcome of the investigation.”
