Ethics Training Tools and Templates

The U.S. Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has developed a portfolio of education and training products agency ethics officials can use in conducting initial and annual ethics training. These education products were specifically designed to be customized by agencies and tailored to their missions and to the work their employees perform.

I. Written materials

OGE has developed four written materials resources that can be used both when introducing new employees to the ethical obligations of public service and as part of annual ethics training. These booklets provide employees with concise summaries of the principles, standards and laws in a user-friendly format that is at once approachable and informative.

OGE recommends that agencies customize these materials. A Guide for Customizing Training handbooks is provided below.

II. Training Presentation Materials

OGE has created two libraries of ethics training scenarios that agencies can tailor to their missions and the work their employees perform. An optional “How To” instructor guide for using the scenarios in Library 2 is also available.

III. How-To Video Series

OGE has produced a series of videos that offer tips and suggestions for conducting ethics training generally, and for using OGE’s training materials in particular.
