City Clerk
We accept, file, record, and maintain all municipal records for Boston. For the public, we sell various licenses and permits and can notarize and attest to documents.
The City Clerk publishes the agenda for all City Council meetings, records all Council and related Mayoral actions, and edits and compiles the minutes of Council meetings. The Department also maintains the City Council document system database and publishes all ordinances and amended codes on a yearly basis. The City Clerk is also responsible for overseeing the work of the Archives Commission.
You must complete any public business transactions before the cashier closes at 4:30 p.m.
