Program Overview
The Georgia TeenWork Internship Program (GTIP) is administered through the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and is designed to ensure that Georgia’s foster youth, ages 16-17, have the opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to further propel on the path of self-sufficiency and success.
Program highlights:
- Has served the state of Georgia since 2006
- Provides employment preparation for approximately 600 youth annually
- Provides youth job readiness training throughout the year
- Partners with non-profit agencies, business and community partners across the State of Georgia
Three core areas of work include:
- Career preparation
- Job placement
- Youth employment resource connections
Youth Eligibility Requirements
Georgia TeenWork Internship Program summer session participants must meet all the following requirements:
- Must be a youth currently in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services;
- Must be between the ages of 16 or 17 years old by June 1, 2019;
- Must reside in the state of Georgia;
- Possess a valid state of Georgia photo ID;
- A U.S. Citizen, permanent resident or have an employment authorization card;
- Attend at least one youth employment training hosted by the Georgia TeenWork Internship Program.
