Procurement Services

The mission of the Georgia Department of Public Health, Division of Operations, Procurement Services Section, is to provide the efficient and effective procurement of commodities and contractual services as required in support of the duties and responsibilities of the agency.  The Procurement Services Section is comprised of three (3) operational units; Contracts, Procurement, and Purchasing. 

All commodities, contractual services, and construction related projects are procured by the Department in accordance with the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.), Section §50-5-50 through Section §50-5-81, otherwise known as the State Purchasing Act, State Purchasing Division (SPD)-Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) guidelines, internal agency policies and in compliance with applicable Federal laws and promulgated rules.

The Department of Public Health is an active and collaborative partner with the State Purchasing Division (SPD).  The State Purchasing Division provides extensive procurement related services to state and local government agencies, and offers great opportunities for suppliers wanting to do business with the State of Georgia.

The Procurement Services Section, subscribes to the State of Georgia’s Code of Ethics for Governmental Service and the State of Georgia Procurement Code of Ethics.  All purchases made by the Department are based on ethical, fair, and competitive procurement practices, and are made with as much diversity in vendor selection as possible.
