Jenny Gesley joined the Law Library as a foreign law specialist in March 2015. She conducts legal research and writes reports on Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Liechtenstein. Prior to joining the Law Library, she worked in various positions, among others as a clerk for a civil and a criminal law judge at the District Court of Frankfurt, Germany, as a trainee lawyer at the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN in New York, at a global law firm in Frankfurt in the acquisition finance department, and for the World Bank’s Special Litigation Unit of the Integrity Vice Presidency. Between 2009 and 2014, she provided research assistance on monetary, currency, and central bank law at the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr. Gesley holds an LLM degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, a JD equivalent from the Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany and a PhD degree in law in the area of banking supervision. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, exercising, and still dreams of becoming a famous tennis player.
