Are you a 16- or 17-years old youth currently in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services? If you answered yes, you may be eligible (see full requirements in the section below) to be a participant in the Georgia TeenWork Internship Program. We offer the following services that support your journey through youth employment and skill building:

Youth Eligibility Requirements
Georgia TeenWork Internship Program summer session participants must meet all the following requirements:
- Must be a youth currently in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services;
- Must be between the ages of 16 or 17 years old by June 1, 2019;
- Must reside in the state of Georgia;
- Possess a valid State of Georgia photo ID;
- A U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or have an employment authorization card;
- Attend at least one youth employment training hosted by the Georgia TeenWork Internship Program
Training Opportunities
The Georgia TeenWork Internship Program provides Georgia’s foster youth the opportunity to expand their job readiness knowledge by offering training focusing on areas such as:
- Dressing for success
- Work ethic
- Communication skill building
Summer Internship Opportunities
The internship program is an eight-week hands-on experience for young adults currently in care ages 16 to 17. The work cycle extends from June 1 through July 31. The goal is to provide a work experience that will help transition participants into successful, independent young adults by arming them with marketable skills and supportive mentoring experience. Real-world work experiences are offered through jobs in private and non-profit businesses, state agencies, and community organizations.
Important Note for Employees of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services: At this time, the Georgia TeenWork Internship Program does not accept the application and participation of the children of DFCS employees.
