Open Reports: This represents the number of reports that contain at least one open recommendation.

Reports Open Greater Than One Year: This number represents the number of open reports that are greater than one year old.

Closed Reports:This represents the number of reports that contain no open recommendations.

Recommendations: Contained in OIG reports, recommendations are issued to VA as a result of findings or substantiated allegations during the course of an inspection, review, or investigation. OIG’s goal is to compose recommendations that can be implemented within 1 year. Once a report has been published, OIG monitors VA’s progress in implementing recommendations on a periodic basis.

Open Recommendations: Represents the number of recommendations for which VA has yet to complete corrective actions to address.

Closed Recommendations: Represents the number of recommendations for which VA has completed corrective actions to address.
