Food Safety Inspection Service is responsible for ensuring the safety and defense of the Nation's supply of meat, poultry, and processed egg products in the event of a national incident by assisting State and local authorities in their response.

Department of Interior is the Federal lead for the protection of natural and cultural resources and historic properties (NCH) under the National Response Framework

As part of the National Response Framework, the Food and Nutrition Service provides nutrition assistance to those most affected by a disaster or emergency.

  Plant Health Response

  Plant Protection and Quarantine's (PPQ) Emergency and Domestic Programs unit provides national leadership and coordination in crop biosecurity and emergency management.

  Animal Health Response

  Veterinary Services Surveillance, Preparedness and Response Services (SPRS) mission includes preparing and practicing animal health and all-hazard response plans. SPRS strengthens and integrates preparedness and response services by responding to animal health problems with solutions that meet customers’ needs and are appropriate in intensity and scope.
