Enabling Pop-ups

In order to successfully complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, you should ensure that the pop-up blocker in your browser allows pop-ups from fafsa.ed.gov. Continue reading below to learn how to enable pop-ups from fafsa.ed.gov in certain browsers.

Google Chrome:

  • At the top, right corner of your screen, select the three dots that are stacked in a vertical line.
  • Then, select the “Settings” option.
  • Scroll down the page and select the “Advanced” option.
  • Under “Privacy and security,” select “Content settings.”
  • Select “Popups.”
  • Under “Block,” select “ADD.”
  • Type in “fafsa.ed.gov” and then select the “ADD” button.
  • Proceed with completing the FAFSA application or correction.

Safari:

  • At the top left of your screen, select the “Safari” option from the menu and then choose “Preferences.”
  • Select the “Security” tab.
  • Under “Web Content,” make sure the “Block pop-up windows” option isn’t checked.
  • Proceed with completing the FAFSA application or correction.

Internet Explorer:

  • Go to “Tools.” (It looks like a round gear in the upper, right-hand corner of your browser window, next to a house and a star.)
  • Select “Internet Options.” This opens the “Internet Options” window.
  • Select the “Privacy” tab.
  • Under “Pop-up Blocker,” select the “Settings” button. This opens the “Pop-up Blocker Settings” window.
  • Type in “fafsa.ed.gov” in the “Address of website to allow” field.
  • Select the “Add” button.
  • Select the “Close” button.
  • Select the “Apply” button and then close the “Internet Options” dialog box.
  • Proceed with completing the FAFSA application or correction.
