Grants Management Branch (GMB)

The GM Branch performs management and internal control and acquisition functions for all NICHD grant programs, including the review and approval of grant proposals prior to award and the obligation of NICHD funds.

To oversee these activities, the GM Branch works closely with scientific program staff, consulting and advising on ways to achieve the NICHD’s goals for its research grant program and to assure proper stewardship of public funds, while also working with grantees to negotiate awards and respond to inquiries. Branch staff liaise with other agency and NIH organizational units, as well as with grantee institutions and organizations.

The Branch also contributes to the development of NICHD policies and procedures and interprets NIH and Departmental policies related to grants programs and management.
