The DPH-OIG WIC Program Investigations is responsible for investigating fraud and abuse within the Georgia WIC Program. The DPH-OIG WIC Program Investigations is made up of four Units-Covert Investigations, Northern Overt Investigations Unit, Southern Overt Investigations Unit, and Electronic Intelligence Research Section.
Covert Investigations Unit
This unit is responsible for conducting compliance buys on WIC vendors and vendor fraud investigations.
Northern & Southern Overt Investigations Units
These units are responsible for Routine Vendor Monitor Visits, including follow-ups, Pre-approvals/vendor background investigations, Participant Investigations, and complaints against vendors.
Electronic Intelligence Research Section
This unit is responsible for data analysis, statistical reporting, maintaining internal data bases, special projects, dual participation, inventory audits, policy, and voucher integrity checks.
