Research on male reproductive health is an important part of the NICHD’s mission. By supporting research on a variety of contraceptive methods and evaluating their safety and efficacy, the NICHD is helping to ensure the health and needs of individuals across the nation and globe are being met. Because sexually transmitted diseases have enormous effects on the health of individuals and society, the NICHD supports a broad portfolio of research on these conditions. The Institute conducts and supports research on the causes, characteristics, treatments, and impacts of male fertility.
