Biological Sciences Guidance on Data Management Plans

The Directorate for Biological Sciences offers the following guidance (linked below) for those developing Data Management Plans (DMP) for submission with full proposals. Each DMP should be appropriate for the data, software/code, and materials being generated, and each should reflect the best practices and standards in the area of research being proposed. While norms and expectations about the dissemination, publication, and archival deposit varies by data type and across research communities, PIs are encouraged to consider how data management will facilitate robust and reliable research and improve public access to research results. Please contact a BIO Program Officer if you have any questions related to DMPs in the program context.
