The NICHD has a large research portfolio on normal and abnormal endocrine function, including abnormalities caused by MAS. Through the NICHD intramural Program on Developmental Endocrinology and Genetics and in collaboration with other NIH Institutes and other organizations, NICHD researchers study genetic mechanisms of MAS, the changes MAS causes within the body, treatments for these changes, and other topics.
