The Kauaʻi Police Department is committed to providing the highest level of professional services to the residents and visitors of Kauaʻi. To ensure that our values of Respect, Integrity, Professionalism and community satisfaction are met, the Kauaʻi Police Department encourages citizens and employees to bring forth complaints regarding inadequate service or employee misconduct.

The mission of the Office Of Professional Standards is to protect and serve the public, police department and its employees, through proactive, fair, thorough, and impartial investigations of alleged employee misconduct.

HOW TO FILE A COMMENDATION

If you wish to commend the actions of employees of this department, you may do so by writing a letter to the District Commander of the police station in your area or the Chief of Police.

Verbal commendations may also be given to any department supervisor.

HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT

If you believe that the conduct of an employee was inappropriate the following options can be taken:

• You may request to speak to a supervisor at any police station

• You may request to speak with the Office Of Professional Standards Acting Lieutenant James Miller (808)241-1606.
