- Pravastatin for Prevention of Preeclampsia
The purpose of this study is to determine the pharmacokinetic parameters and collect preliminary safety data for pravastatin when used as a prophylactic daily treatment in pregnant women at high risk for preeclampsia. - A Cluster-Randomized Trial of Ultrasound Use to Improve Pregnancy Outcomes in Low Income Country Settings
In many low-income countries, the use of ultrasound by medical officers and non-physician health care staff (e.g., midwives) for antenatal identification of high-risk pregnancies is a new intervention requiring authoritative investigation. The primary hypothesis that this study will test is that antenatal ultrasound screenings performed by medical officers and non-physician health care staff will significantly reduce a composite outcome consisting of maternal deaths and near-deaths during labor, stillbirths, and newborn deaths in low-resource settings. - Aspirin Supplementation for Pregnancy Indicated Risk Reduction In s (ASPIRIN) (ASPIRIN)
Available data suggest that low-dose aspirin could be a safe, widely available, and inexpensive intervention that may significantly reduce the risk of preterm birth. However, this possibility needs to be proven in a properly designed randomized controlled trial with preterm birth as the primary outcome. - Placenta Imaging Project (PIP)
The purpose of this study is to test the application of newly generated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocols for the assessment of placental perfusion in human subjects. The primary objective is to validate and establish the utility of placental MRI in pregnant women.
