Featured NICHD Clinical Trials on reading

  • Interventions for Children With Attention and Reading Disorders (ICARD)
This trial tests how well various treatments work to improve reading and attention in children with both attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and significant reading difficulties. The study is evaluating three different treatments and treatment combinations: ADHD-specific treatment, treatment for reading difficulties, and a combination of both types of treatment.
  • Testing and Calibration of Non-Invasive Optical Imaging Technology for Functional Brain Imaging
This study evaluates how well non-invasive functional near infrared imaging techniques functions to examine brain activity in healthy volunteers compared to functional magnetic resonance imaging. While being scanned, participants will conduct a variety of simple tasks, such as reading sentences, for the investigators to examine the imaging methodology’s task-specific imaging capabilities.
