- Hormonal Regulation of Puberty and Fertility
The purpose of this study is to better understand how low levels or lack of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) affects puberty and fertility. People who produce low levels or no GnRH will be studied with imaging to look at bone and brain development and hearing and tasting tests to examine differences in the senses. - Ovarian Stem Cells from Women with Ovarian Insufficiency
This study will collect ovarian tissue from women with primary ovarian insufficiency to investigate ovarian stem cells. The study will evaluate the stems cells for potential ability to make new eggs. - Evaluation of Women With Endocrine and Reproductive-Related Conditions
This study was designed to allow inpatient and outpatient evaluation of women with a variety of reproductive and endocrine-related disorders for the purposes of research and physician education. - Inherited Reproductive Disorders
During puberty, children begin to develop into adults. Problems with the hormones released during puberty can affect the reproductive system. Some people have low hormone levels that severely delay or prevent puberty. Others start puberty abnormally early. Some people may have a normal puberty but develop reproductive disorders later in life. This study aims to learn more about how these disorders may be inherited. - Improving Reproductive Fitness Through Pretreatment With Lifestyle Modification in Obese Women With Unexplained Infertility
This study will test the safety and efficacy of a lifestyle modification intervention on obese women with unexplained infertility. Women will be randomized to either a weight-loss or weight maintenance program and then undergo fertility treatment. The researchers will study the effect of the intervention on time to pregnancy and birth outcome. - Pulsatile GnRH in y Infertility
Researchers will study the effects of pulsatile GnRH on ovulation and menstruation induction in GnRH-deficient women. The synthetic GnRH will be delivered through a mini-infusion pump. - Metformin Treatment in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Women with PCOS experience irregular periods and might experience infertility, acne, and prediabetes and diabetes. Metformin is used to treat PCOS, but it works in only some women. To better understand why, researchers will study the effect of metformin on muscle metabolism in PCOS patients and the relationship between muscle metabolism and the symptoms of PCOS.
