Financial Management Plan

Here NIAID sets funding levels for grants, renewal cap, and selective pay and bridge pools every fiscal (FY).

Updated November 13, 2018. We added the link to the FY 2019 legislative mandates Guide notice.

Competing Awards

  • We are funding new competing awards with no percentage reduction in the approved funding level. We will reduce for salaries that exceed the salary cap.
  • Renewal budgets for R01s are capped at 20 percent over the direct costs of the last noncompeting award, not including equipment or alterations and renovations costs.
  • Salaries are limited to the levels published on Salary Cap and Stipends.
  • No inflationary increases in calculating future years.

Noncompeting Awards

  • We are funding noncompeting continuation awards at the level from the Notice of Award with no percentage reduction.
  • Salaries are limited to the levels published on Salary Cap and Stipends.

Set-Aside Funds

We will post NIAID’s selective pay and R56-Bridge pool information as it comes in.
