Featured NICHD Clinical Trials
- Treatment of Hypoparathyroidism with Synthetic Human Parathyroid Hormone 1-34
For more than two decades, researchers conducting this study have been providing and evaluating a synthetic parathyroid hormone, known as PTH 1-34, for use in severe cases of hypoparathyroidism. This study examines the long-term effects of PTH therapy on calcium metabolism, bone, and renal function. - Comparing Pump with Subcutaneous Injection Delivery of PTH 1-34 in the Management of Chronic Hypoparathyroidism
This study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of pump-delivered PTH compared with twice-daily injections. The researchers hypothesize that the pump method will provide smoother metabolic control of serum mineral levels and normalization of urine mineral excretion.
