NIAID will support innovative basic, translational, and clinical research to identify and address challenges to achieving a cure for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in the presence or absence of HIV.

Take a gene- or cell-based approach to achieve complete elimination of HIV-1 or long-term remission of HIV-1 in the absence of antiretroviral treatment.

Apply for funding if you can characterize genetic variants (coding or noncoding) that cause inborn errors of immunity or primary immunodeficiency diseases and elucidate the molecular, cellular, and immunological mechanisms of these disorders.

The salary cap for grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts is $189,600, which restricts salaries to the rate of $189,600 annually; for example, $47,400 for three person-months.

Applicants eligible for continuous submission who plan to send investigator initiated AIDS-related applications on or before February 7, 2019, may use parent funding opportunity announcements that will expire on January 8, 2019.

You have until January 31, 2019, to submit your annual report to NIH's Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare.
