Mission Statement and Vision

MISSION STATEMENT: 

To protect lives and property in the County of Kauaʻi by coordinating and integrating efforts among all levels of government and the private sector to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other threats and hazards.

 

VISION: 

The Kauaʻi Emergency Management Agency strives to actively promote and enhance whole-community preparedness, resilience and safety in the face of numerous threats, hazards and disasters that can potentially affect our island communities.

Monthly Siren Test for December 2018 SUSPENDED

The State’s monthly test of the Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System, which would typically occur on MONDAY December 3, 2018 at 11:45 a.m. has been suspended for the month of December ONLY. No test will take place at that time, and the statewide test has not been rescheduled for a different time.

The monthly siren tests are being suspended to avoid interfering with various inaugural events scheduled around the state at that time.
