The NICHD is one of several federal agencies that support and conduct TBI research. The Institute’s research portfolio includes projects on preventive measures, diagnostic tools, the biological and biochemical mechanisms of TBI, treatment guidelines, and therapeutic interventions for specific populations, including children. The NICHD’s efforts also include research on secondary conditions such as depression.
