Blessing held for Lima Ola affordable housing project on Monday

‘ELE‘ELE – The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency held a blessing for the Lima Ola affordable housing project in ‘Ele‘ele on Monday.  In addition to blessing the future site of the project, KCHA also celebrated the completion and approvals of land entitlements and permitting which gave Lima Ola the approval to proceed.

County distributes $500K in grants for flood recovery work

LĪHU‘E – Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. held a ceremony Friday morning to award a total of $500,000 in grants to six nonprofit community organizations continuing flood recovery work in the aftermath of the historic April flood.

KEMA unveils new 18-screen video wall in Emergency Operations Center

LĪHU‘E – Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr. and representatives from the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency, Kaua‘i Fire Department, Kaua‘i Police Department, the County Information Technology Division and contractor Modtech Solutions unveiled on Wednesday the recently-installed grant-funded upgrades to the county’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

LĪHU‘E – Kaua‘i police often look to the public for information that may lead to an arrest of an unsolved crime. However, many people are often fearful or reluctant to get involved. That’s why the Kaua‘i Police Department strongly believes in Crime Stoppers Kaua‘i, Inc. – a program that allows callers to submit tips on criminal activity with complete anonymity.

Lane closure in Wailua on Kūhiō Highway set for Dec. 5

WAILUA – The public is advised that the outermost northbound lane of Kūhiō Highway in Wailua at the northern end of the Leho Drive intersection will be closed from midnight to 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The closure is necessary to assess additional repair work needed on the sewer collection system.

Water service shutdown reminder for customers located on Kalama Road, Kipapa Road and along a portio

KAPA’A – The Department of Water (DOW) reminds customers located on Kalama Road, Kipapa Road and along a portion of Pu’uopae Road; from Holio Road to Opaeka’a Road in Kapa’a, of a scheduled 4-hour, water service shutdown on Tuesday, November 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.
