BERKELEY COUNTY TAX BOOKS OPENED 10-2-2017
BERKELEY COUNTY 2017 REAL ESTATE TAX BILLS WERE MAILED OCTOBER 2, 2017.
IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A TAX BILL, THE INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE. PAYMENT IS DUE BY JANUARY 15, 2018 WITHOUT PENALTY.

The Treasurer's Office:

  • Collects Real, Personal, Motor Vehicle And Other Taxes
  • Oversees Disbursement To County Government, Municipalities, Schools and Special Taxing Districts In Berkeley County
  • Maintains Records Of Revenues Collected And Invests Any Funds Not Immediately Needed For Disbursement
  • Conducts Tax Notification
  • Issues Tax Refunds

The Treasurer, an elected official, serves as the holding agent for funds from County departments. These departments deposit their funds (such as grants, plat sales, fines and copy fees) with the Treasurer. The Treasurer invests these monies, along with tax collections, to generate additional revenues for the County in the form of interest earnings.
