About DCCPS
In 1997, NCI established DCCPS to enhance its ability to alleviate the burden of cancer through cancer control research. This research generates basic knowledge about how to monitor and change individual and collective behavior, and to ensure that knowledge is translated into practice and policy rapidly, effectively, and efficiently. Research Emphasis
DCCPS supports research in surveillance, epidemiology, health services, behavioral science, and cancer survivorship. The division also acts as a source of expertise and evidence on issues such as the quality of cancer care, economic burden of cancer, geographic information systems, statistical methods, communication science, comparative effectiveness research, obesity and tobacco control, and translation of research into practice.
