Jeffrey Jackson

Jeffrey Jackson - Official PhotoMr. Jackson comes to FEMA from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he served as Acting Director of the Office of Information Technology Acquisition (OITA) in the Office of Procurement.  In this capacity he led a staff of more than 160, and was responsible for annual spending of approximately $1.6 billion in support of information technology needs across the Department of the Treasury.

Prior to serving as Acting Director, OITA, Mr. Jackson was the Director of the Office of Treasury Procurement Services (OTPS) at IRS, providing acquisition support for the Treasury headquarters function, the Departmental Offices (DO).  In 2011, he led the stand-up of OTPS and the transition of procurement responsibility from DO to IRS, initially serving as the Deputy Director.

Mr. Jackson began his career as a Treasury Procurement Intern.  His initial rotation was with the IRS, and upon completion of that rotation he was transferred to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  As part of the stand-up of the Office of Procurement Operations at DHS, he worked on some of the first DHS headquarters acquisitions.  He subsequently returned to the IRS where he held positions of increasing responsibility as a Contracting Officer.  In the fall of 2008, he was detailed to Treasury to provide acquisition expertise to the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), a program designed to stabilize the U.S. economic system.

Mr. Jackson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.  He lives with his wife and son in West Springfield, VA.
