The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is offering mini-grants to qualified community-based organization to continue The SEAL RI! School-Based Dental Sealant Program (CDC grant). SEAL RI! is a school-based/linked dental sealant program that targets elementary schools across the state that have 50% or greater of their children eligible for the Free and Reduced School Meal Program. The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is offering mini-grants to Rhode Island organizations to pilot the sale of healthful meals, snacks, and beverages in community venues such as concession stands and vending machines. Eligible applicants are community-based organizations that can adopt nutrition guidelines, identify new food items, sell and promote these new items, and evaluate the success of the pilot program. The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) Division of Community Health and Equity Tobacco Control Program (RITCP), is soliciting proposals from qualified community-based, private, public, or non-profit organizations for work to reduce youth tobacco use and for work to effectuate municipal policy change in communities that are not already performing similar work supported by RITCP funds. Strategies solicited include engaging youth (13-17 years old) at-risk of tobacco use alongside community stakeholders to implement local and statewide tobacco control activities that reduce youth access to tobacco products in the retail environment.
