Veterans Crisis Line

Eligibility and Enrollment
Veterans seeking medical care at the Washington DC VA Medical Center must first enroll. If you have never used the services of a VA medical facility or it has been more than six months since you visited the Washington DC VA Medical Center, please report to the Eligibility Office, conveniently located right in the atrium. Patient Service Center (Appt. management)
The Patient Service Center is your one-stop shop to call to schedule or change your medical appointment. The Patient Service Center is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Phone 202-745-8000 option 2.

Billing and Insurance
You may be billed for a number of copayments as a result of your stay or appointment. We can also file claims with your insurance. If you have any questions about your co-pay balance, please contact our Billing Office at (202) 745-8000, option 6, #1. For Non-VA Bills and Claims, call (202) 745-8000, option 6, #2. Transition Assistance for Returning Veterans (OEF/OIF/OND)
The medical center’s Transition and Care Management team is available to provide Veterans returning from Iraq or Afghanistan and other combat theaters, as well as post-9/11 Veterans, with comprehensive transition assistance. The Release of Information Office processes requests for medical records and assists providers with completing forms for patients. Learn more about release of information.
Visiting Hours/Policies
Visitation hours are 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Children under 14 years of age must be supervised by an adult other than the patient.
