Executive Leadership Change at the Tucson Area Office
Dr. Yvette Roubideaux named Dixie Gaikowski as the Director of the Tucson Area Indian Health Service (IHS), effective January 25, 2015. Ms. Gaikowski is an enrolled member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe. In her new position, Ms. Gaikowski is responsible for the Area's financial programs and management. The Tucson Area provides primary and community outreach programs for health services to the Tohono O'odham Nation and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona. The Area also provides urban health care services through the Tucson Indian Center, which provides community health outreach, education, prevention, and referral services, including case management, advocacy, and transportation.
