The Cental Mineral and Environmental Resources Science Center merged with the Crustal Geophysics and Geochemistry Science Center to form the Geology, Geophysics, and Geochemistry Science Center. The Central Mineral and Environmental Resources Science Center, part of the USGS Mineral Resources Program, conducts unbiased research on the occurrence, quality, quantity, and availability of nonfuel mineral resources in order to help the Nation make informed decisions using earth-science information.
