The NACP Grantee Profiles are produced by the CDC’s National Asthma Control Program (NACP), and describe asthma prevalence, healthcare utilization, asthma self-management education, and mortality for the program’s 25 funded grantees (California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin). The profiles use data from CDC surveys (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Asthma Call-back Survey, and National Vital Statistics System).

Missed Work Days and Activity limitation
Child (17 years or younger)
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported activity limitations in the past 30 days by state/territory
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported missing days of school or daycare in the past 12 months by state/territory
Adult (18 years or older)
- Percentage of adults with current asthma who reported activity limitations in the past 30 days by state/territory
- Percentage of adults with current asthma who reported missed days of work in the past 12 months by state/territory
Asthma Self-Management Education
Child (17 years or younger)
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported ever taking an asthma management course by state/territory
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported ever receiving an asthma management plan by state/territory
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported ever being taught how to use a peak flow meter by state/territory
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported ever being taught how to recognize asthma signs or symptoms by state/territory
- Percentage of children with current asthma who reported ever being taught what to do during an asthma episode or attack by state/territory
Adult (18 years or older)
- Percentage of adults with current asthma who reported ever taking an asthma management course by state/territory
